Custom Lip Balm Wedding Favors

A favor your guests will actually take home and use — lip balm made in small batches in Vermont, with your names on it and your colors on the label. Not a trinket that gets left on the table.

The $10 comes off your first order, so if you go ahead the kit costs you nothing.

Matched to Your Colors

Send us your palette in whatever form you already have it — hex codes from your stationer, a photo of your invitation, your florist's mood board, a fabric swatch — and we design the label to match it.

You'll get a proof before anything is printed. If the first one isn't right, we adjust it and send another, and nothing goes into production until you've said yes.

If you'd rather see it before you commit to anything at all, send us your names and colors and we'll email you a free mockup, usually within a couple of days. No order required.

Most couples send their names, their date and two or three colors. That's enough for us to work from.

How Soon Should We Order?

The honest answer is that we're faster than most couples expect. Most orders are out the door within two weeks of the moment you approve your label proof — add a few days at the front for us to design the label and for you to look at it, plus transit, and it's about three weeks from ordering to having them in your hands.

  • Day 1 You order and send your artworkNames, date, colors, and anything you already have from your stationer.
  • A few days You approve your proofChanges are free and unlimited up to this point. After you approve, the labels print.
  • 2 weeks later They shipMost orders are out the door within two weeks of approval, with transit time on top.
  • About 3 weeks They're in your handsOpen the box, check the labels, count them, and put them away.

So why do we suggest ordering earlier than that? Because of the month before the wedding, not because of us. That month fills up with everything else, and it's a much better feeling to have the box already open, checked and stashed in a closet than to be tracking a shipment the same week you're confirming the caterer. Order six or seven weeks out and the favors are done long before any of that starts.

Sooner than that? Tell us anyway. Rush processing is available on standard and paper tubes for an extra fee, and rush orders of standard tubes can often be processed and shipped out within a few days. Call 1-802-359-7514 with your date and we'll say honestly whether it works, rather than taking the order and hoping.

How Many, and What It Costs

One per guest is the usual rule, so your guest count is your quantity — rounded up to the next lot of 25, since that's how flavors are made. The minimum is 50 tubes, so 100 tubes could be four flavors at 25 each, or two at 50.

Standard & paper tubes

Minimum 50 tubes, in lots of 25 per flavor

Quantity Standard Paper
50–149 $2.35 $4.00
150–299 $1.85 $3.50
300–999 $1.35 $3.00
1,000+ $1.10 $2.75

Plus a one-time $75 label setup fee. Kraft paper tubes are exactly $1.65 more per tube at every band, and they're plastic-free.

A 100-guest wedding: 100 standard tubes at $2.35 is $235, plus the $75 setup — $310 all in, about $3.10 a guest.

A 150-guest wedding: 150 tubes at $1.85 is $277.50, plus setup — $352.50, about $2.35 a guest. More favors, less money per guest.

Worth knowing if your number lands near 150. Because flavors come in lots of 25, your choices around there are 125 or 150 — and 150 is the cheaper one. 125 tubes at $2.35 is $293.75; 150 at $1.85 is $277.50. Twenty-five more favors for about $16 less, because 150 is where the price band changes. If you're close, round up.

Shipping is quoted separately — our retail free-shipping offer doesn't cover custom orders.

What's Actually In It

Seven ingredients, made in small batches in Vermont. It's the same balm we sell at retail, with your names on it instead of ours — and it's formulated by a practicing periodontist, which is not something most favors can say.

Oryza sativa (Rice Bran) Oil · Cocos nucifera (Coconut) Oil · Stearic Acid · Theobroma cacao (Cocoa) and/or Mangifera indica (Mango) Seed Butter · Euphorbia cerifera (Candelilla) Wax · Essential/Flavor Oil · Tocopherol (Vitamin E)

No petroleum at any stage, and the wax is candelilla rather than beeswax, so it's vegan. It does contain coconut and cocoa or mango butter, and a few flavors are nut-derived — almond among them. Unscented contains no added flavor or essential oil, though the base is the same, so it isn't free of coconut or cocoa and mango butter. If you have a guest with a serious allergy, tell us and we'll send you the exact ingredient statement for the flavors you're considering.

Frequently Asked Questions About Lip Balm Wedding Favors

How many do we need for our guest count?

One per guest is the usual rule, so your guest count is your quantity, rounded up to the next lot of 25. The minimum is 50 tubes — a 100-guest wedding is 100 tubes, which can be four flavors at 25 each.

If your number lands between 125 and 150, order 150. The price drops from $2.35 to $1.85 at that point, so 150 tubes costs $277.50 against $293.75 for 125 — twenty-five more favors for about $16 less.

Can you match our wedding colors?

Yes. Send us your palette in whatever form you have it — hex codes, a swatch, a photo of your invitation, your florist's mood board. We design the label to match and send a proof before anything is printed. If the first proof isn't right, we adjust it and send another. Nothing goes into production until you've approved it.

When do we need to order?

Sooner than you need them, but not by as much as you might think. Most orders are out the door within two weeks of the moment you approve your label proof, with a few days at the front for the label design and your review, plus transit — so it's about three weeks from ordering to having them in hand.

The reason we suggest going earlier than that for a wedding isn't production, it's the month before the date. That month is already full, and it's much better to have the box open, checked and put away than to be tracking a shipment that week. Six or seven weeks out is comfortable.

Can you do a rush order?

Often, yes — so tell us your date rather than assuming it won't work. Rush processing is available on standard and paper tubes for an extra fee, and rush orders of standard tubes can often be processed and shipped out within a few days. Call 1-802-359-7514 with your date before you order and we'll tell you honestly whether it works, rather than taking the order and hoping.

Can we try the flavors before we choose?

Yes, and most couples do. The Flavor Selection Kit is $10 for up to five flavors of your choice with shipping included, and we apply the $10 to your first order. With more than 70 flavors, trying a few is the easiest way to narrow it down.

Can we have more than one flavor?

Yes, in lots of 25. So 100 tubes could be four flavors at 25 each, or two at 50. Couples often pick two or three and mix them across the tables. Unscented is there if you'd rather not choose a flavor at all.

What if our date moves or our numbers change?

Tell us as early as you can. Before your proof is approved we can change quantities, flavors and artwork freely. After approval the labels are printed and the order is in production, so changes get harder. Because every order is printed with your names on it, custom orders can't be returned — which is exactly why we'd rather you tried the kit and approved a proof first.

What's in it, and is it safe for all our guests?

Seven ingredients: rice bran oil, coconut oil, stearic acid, cocoa and/or mango seed butter, candelilla wax, essential or flavor oil, and vitamin E. No petroleum at any stage, and candelilla wax rather than beeswax, so it's vegan.

It does contain coconut and cocoa or mango butter, and some flavors are nut-derived — almond among them. Unscented has no added flavor or essential oil, but the base ingredients are the same. If you have a guest with a serious allergy, tell us and we'll send you the exact ingredient statement for the flavors you're considering.

Do you do bridal showers and rehearsal dinners too?

Yes. The same 50-tube minimum applies, so a shower usually means one order covering the shower and the wedding with two labels, or a single label used for both. Reunions, conferences and anniversary parties work the same way.

What if we don't have a designer?

Most couples don't. Send us your names, your date, your colors and any artwork you already have, and we'll design the label and send proofs within a few days. You can also send it all before you order and we'll email you a free mockup, usually within a couple of days, so you can see it before committing to anything.

How do we pay?

Any credit or debit card at checkout, and we can take a check if you'd rather. If your venue or planner is paying and needs a W-9, a purchase order or an invoice, just ask — email info@farmersbody.com or call 1-802-359-7514.
