Custom Lip Balm for Dental Practices

Fifty tubes, with a minimum of 25 of any one flavor, so a 50-tube order means two flavors. We keep the minimum low on purpose, because most promotional suppliers won't touch an order under several hundred units and a single-location practice rarely needs that many at once. Most practices we work with order between 250 and 500 tubes, which usually covers a year of front-desk supply. If you're not sure what you'll go through, start small and reorder, since reorders are simpler and cheaper than first orders.

It depends which tube you choose. Standard tubes are $2.35 each for 50–149, $1.85 for 150–299, $1.35 for 300–999, and $1.10 for 1,000 or more. Paper tubes are exactly $1.65 more per tube at every one of those bands. Both carry a one-time $75 label setup fee, waived on every reorder of the same label, so a first order of 250 standard tubes is $537.50 all in, and your next 250 is $462.50. SPF is priced separately: $2.50 each for 150–299, $2.25 for 300–999, $2.00 for 1,000–4,999 and $1.75 above 5,000, with a $75 FDA compliance inspection for the first flavor, $35 for each additional flavor, and a $15 setup on reorders. It's worth checking the tier edges before you finalize a quantity, because flavors are made in lots of 25, your total is always a multiple of 25, and 150 standard tubes costs less in total than 125 does, while 300 costs less than 275.

Most orders are out the door within two weeks of the moment you approve your label proof, not from when you place the order. That distinction matters. Add a few days at the front for us to design the label and for you to review it, plus transit time, so from placing the order to having them on the front desk is usually about three weeks. If you're working to a particular date, like a patient appreciation event, tell us and we'll confirm it before you order. In a rush? Rush processing is available on standard and paper tubes for an extra fee, and rush orders of standard tubes can often be processed and shipped out within a few days.

That's normal and it's not a problem. Send us whatever you have, whether that's your logo file, your website or a photo of your signage, and we'll design the label around your branding. You'll get proofs within a few days, and nothing goes to production until you've approved them. If something isn't right, we adjust it and send another proof.

Yes. The label is a print job rather than a stamp, so alongside your logo it can carry your website, your phone number, your address, a QR code, a recall reminder or a short line of copy. Practices often put the number to call for an appointment on it, or a QR code that opens their booking page, which turns the balm into a recall card that lives in a pocket rather than a drawer. Tell us what you'd like on it and we'll lay it out and send a proof.

Yes. We also make custom-labeled hand and body lotion and foaming hand soap under your practice's name, in several scents including unscented. Practices use the lotion at the front desk and in operatories, or as a bigger thank-you for referrals and staff appreciation. Tell us what you'd like and roughly how many and we'll quote it alongside the balms.

Yes, but the terms differ from our standard tubes, so it's worth knowing before you plan. SPF lip balm is regulated as an over-the-counter drug, which means the label has to pass an FDA compliance inspection before it can be printed, at $75 for your first flavor and $35 for each additional flavor. The minimum order is 150 tubes, and the minimum per flavor is also 150, so a 150-tube order gets you one flavor and two flavors means 300 tubes. Pricing starts at $2.50 a tube and comes down to $1.75 above 5,000. Reorders carry a $15 label setup fee rather than being free. SPF also can't be rush processed, because the inspection takes the time it takes, so tell us early if you want it and we'll build it into the timeline.

The full list is rice bran oil, coconut oil, stearic acid, cocoa and/or mango seed butter, candelilla wax, essential or flavor oils, and vitamin E, infused with Vermont-grown calendula. No petroleum, no chemical taste, and none of the irritating agents commonly found in standard lip balms that can make dryness and flaking worse. It's vegan, since we use candelilla wax rather than beeswax. Meggan, our founder, is a periodontist with a diploma in organic skincare formulation, and she developed the formula precisely because so many drugstore balms make chapped lips worse rather than better. Each tube is 0.15 oz / 4.25 g.

Yes. Kraft paperboard push-up tubes, renewable, biodegradable, and recyclable, with an oil-resistant lining that keeps the balm fresh. They're $1.65 more per tube at every quantity band. We're a certified Vermont Green Business, so if sustainability is something your practice talks about with patients, this is usually the better fit. Happy to quote both so you can compare.

Worth thinking about, since you're handing these to patients. The base is rice bran oil, coconut oil, stearic acid, cocoa and/or mango seed butter, candelilla wax, and vitamin E, so it contains coconut and cocoa or mango butter. Flavors vary, and some are nut-derived; almond is one of them. If your practice would rather avoid flavorings altogether, we make an Unscented option that's completely fragrance and flavor free, which is what we'd suggest for a pediatric or allergy-conscious setting. Below that the setup cost per unit stops making sense for you. SPF has a higher floor: 150 tubes minimum, and 150 per flavor, so SPF isn't an option for a small run. SPF balms also can't be rush processed, because the FDA label inspection takes the time it takes. Very large orders, above about 5,000 tubes, may run longer than the standard two weeks. And because every custom order is printed with your branding, custom products can't be returned, which is exactly why we'd rather you tried a Flavor Selection Kit and approved a proof before committing. Custom orders also aren't eligible for our retail discount codes or free shipping promotions, since they're already priced at bulk rates.
