Q: Why are the colors slightly different from the last time I purchased a product?
A: Nature isn't boring.
Nature is dynamic and variable. Because we use actually natural, minimally processed ingredients, they may vary a little from batch to batch. (Did you know that milk from our cows tastes a little different in the Spring when they are grazing on fresh grass vs. in the winter when the grass they eat is dried?).
You can expect some variation in color, shape or appearance as well as some separation or settling of ingredients and some color fading (or darkening in the case of products containing vanilla) in our hand crafted natural products. This is normal, expected and something to celebrate! It means we really did use natural products and makes each product uniquely yours.
What doesn't vary is our commitment to bring these ingredients, in their best form, to you.
Q: Can you make me products with/without a specific ingredient?
A: Yes! We love special requests.
Need something special? Send us an email! We love custom requests- special ingredients, allergies, special occasions (wedding favors, parties, baby showers...) as a small handcrafter, we are happy to accommodate custom orders! Please note that soap takes a minimum of 4 weeks to fully cure and be ready for bubbly use.
Q: Can I carry your products in my store?
We currently have opportunities available for wholesale or private label accounts. No account is too big or too small. Please get in touch to snag a spot!
Q: When will my order ship?
A: As fast as we can possibly get it out!
We'll carefully pack up your order asap. Most orders leave the farm within 2-5 business days of payment. You will receive an email when your items have been shipped! If you have selected local delivery, please indicate which location (WRJ or Hartland) and we'll connect to coordinate.
Q: Where do I find local pick up?
A: At our farm!
Come visit our farm! If you have selected local pick up in Hartland, VT, we can usually have your order ready within 24 hours. You will receive a notice in your email when we have it waiting at the Cobb Hill/Cedar Mountain Farm farmstand at 5 Linden Rd. Hartland, VT 05048. As you turn on Linden Rd. the farmstand is immediately on your right. The farmstand is open from 6am-6pm daily.
**Porch pick up in White River Junction is also available on request. Please send us an email or make a note on your order to let us know if you'd like this option**
Q: How should I care for handcrafted soap?
A: Let it dry, let it dry
Please allow your soap bars to dry after each use. It is best to store them on a surface that has adequate drainage so the bar isn't sitting in a puddle.
Q: Do you use preservatives?
Because products that are water-based are fantastic growing media for nasty stuff like mold and bacteria, products that contain water must contain a preservative if they are to be safe sitting on a shelf, in a cabinet, etc. and not in your refrigerator. We are super picky. We only use preservatives when we absolutely need to and we do a gosh-darn boat load of research on the ones we choose to be sure they are safe for your babies and ours.
Q: Do you use safe ingredients?
We know your family's health and safety is #1 important to you. That's why all of our ingredients are carefully chosen, carefully sourced and relentlessly scrutinized for your well being.
Farmer's Body is safe, eco-friendly, healthy and clean. All of our products are free from phthalates, parabens, triclosan, MEA, DEA, aluminum, sodium laurel sulfate, PEG, BHT, and siloxanes.
Q: I love the lip balm/lotion/body butter flavor I purchased at a craft fair, but I don't see it online. Can I still order it?
Not all products are listed online. Drop us an email with your request and if we have it in stock, we'll get it in your hands.
