How to Take Care of Your Skin During Colder Weather

Winter is officially here, and that means it’s time to revamp your skincare routine once again. It’s all about moisture during the cold winter months, so you might need to make a few changes to your routine in order to keep your skin happy and healthy. Here are a few easy steps you can implement in order to take care of your skin during colder weather.

  1. Switch up your soap. During winter, you want to make sure your skin stays as moisturized and protected as possible. Most traditional body and hand soaps are made with harsh ingredients that can dry out your skin and strip away the moisture. That’s why you might want to consider swapping to a mild handmade soap during the colder months.

Our handmade bar soaps here at Farmer’s Body are filled with skin-loving ingredients like olive oil infused with calendula and coconut oil that will hydrate your skin and protect it from harsh winter weather conditions. While you’re at it, we also suggest making the switch to our handmade foaming hand soap to keep your hands moisturized and clean this winter.

  1. Try a moisturizing body butter. Like we said before, it’s really important to keep your skin moisturized during the winter months. Traditional hand and body lotions might not get the job done all the way this winter, so we suggest trying out a richer body butter instead.

Our body butters are made with ultra-moisturizing ingredients like Vitamin E and locally sourced tallow that will keep your skin hydrated and happy when it’s cold and windy outside. Of course, you can always use a little bit of extra moisturization during the winter, and we think our body butters work great in conjunction with our hydrating hand and body lotions

  1. Pay attention to your lips. It’s easy to forget about your lips when it comes to skincare during the winter, but it’s important to take extra special care of them, too. You don’t have to do anything extravagant, though. Simply keeping your lips moisturized with the help of a hydrating lip balm should do the trick.

Our handmade lip balms will hydrate your lips and keep the hydration locked in all day long. They’re filled with moisturizing ingredients like nourishing beeswax and cocoa butter that will keep your lips protected and healthy during the winter (and all year long).
